Yesterday, Bethesda officially announced “Dark Heart of Skyrim” for The Elder Scrolls Online. The year-long story event was teased during the Video Game Awards last year. This event takes place a thousand years before the events of the most popular game in the Franchise, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.
Stadia, the game streaming service from Google, has mentioned that The Dark Heart of Skyrim and Elder Scrolls Online can be played on Stadia when it launches. In case you are unaware of Stadia, it is a cloud streaming service that lets the users play a huge number of games at 60FPS at 4K resolution. It means you don’t need to have a gaming PC or console to get the best gaming experience out there. Your Stadia will connect to your display and play the games out of the box. There is no need to buy individual games*, and you don’t even need to install or download any games.
The event will let the players explore Skyrim, which was missing from the MMO Elder Scrolls. However, this year we will be finally getting the frozen land in the North of Tamriel as a playable location. The players would get not only the overlands area but Blackreach, the dark underground area of Skyrim would also be an important setting. Beware! The world beneath Skyrim is full of vampires and werewolves.
Stadia is available from Google for $129, and to get the best 4K experience, you will need to have at least a 35Mbit/s connection, but if you are looking for 720p, then a 10Mbit/s connection would suffice.
*Most of the games are available for free, but some may require an additional subscription (Stadia Pro).
