Cloudflare’s Free VPN is here for Android and iOS

Cloudflare is one of the biggest internet companies which offers hosting services and defence against cyberattacks such as the infamous DDoS attack. If you would be interested in web hosting services, be sure to check this thread for the best deals. But enough about web hosting, let’s talk about Cloudflare’s new product. Back in April, the company launched its own in-house developed VPN and all hell broke loose.

Known as Warp, the mobile VPN app was created to offer a simple alternative compared to the cluttered VPN Mobile apps. Upon launch, the app did just the opposite, having numerous problems which frustrated users even more.

With over 2 million people in the waitlist, the company is now relaunching the app, which, according to Cloudflare, is way better than before. Instead of making an independent app, the company integrated the VPN in its existing app, encrypting the data all the way from your machine to the webserver. This helps people avoid tracking effectively, unlike other VPNs.

The company said they wanted to stand out from the rest of the competition by developing Warp in such a way that it stays battery efficient. While Warp is not suitable for enterprise users who generally use customized solutions, it helps normal users avoid those pesky internet trackers.

There are two versions of the app- one is free while the other one offers additional speed and enhanced security. While there are no bandwidth restrictions in the free version, you can give Warp Plus a try since it is fairly priced at just $4.99 per month. Cloudflare says that the price will fluctuate from region to region.

In case you happened to be on the waitlist, Cloudflare will give you an additional 10GB of Warp Plus, even though some people on Reddit claim they haven’t received the same.
