The 2019 release of Call of Duty reintroduced us to the Modern Warfare characters. We got to meet Captain Price and saw him recruiting Gaz. People were feeling nostalgic as they got to see their favorite characters from the popular franchise once more.
Now, with the release of Season two of Modern Warfare 2019, we got to see another popular character from the original trilogy making a return. This time it is Lt. Simon Riley, who was known as Ghost in Modern Warfare 2.
During the teaser, we get only a glimpse of Ghost, but it was enough to turn up the excitement to 11. We all remember the infamous scene from Modern Warfare 2, where Lt. General Shephard betrays Task Force 141 and murders Roach and Ghost to tie up the “loose ends.”
There were rumors going around claiming that Activision has plans to introduce Ghost in the Modern Warfare reboot. Now, with the release of this trailer, it has been confirmed.
By the looks of the teaser where we get to see the words “Ghost Confirmed” on the screen, he will be a playable character in the upcoming season.
Now, the trailer ends with the words mentioned above and the image of Ghost’s mask. However, observant fans managed to dig in deep and came across a snippet of a map. This map seems to look like the iconic Rust map from Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.
Just imagine playing as Ghost on Rust once again after a wait of nearly a decade. The update will be coming out on February 11, but it seems like a long time to wait.
However, the presence of the map, Rust is just a speculation. On looking at the trailer, it seems like the map would be present, but we still need an official confirmation.
In the end, it seems that Activision has finally understood how to please their fans with the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which is arguably the best series in the franchise.
