Scoops suggest that Infinity Ward and Activision are working towards a “big overhaul” of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. It is the alteration to the game’s minimap which has caught everyone’s attention. The same has been tipped by a reliable source on COD – The GamingRevolution, the YouTuber.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is likely to revert to the normal minimap, at the end of November. In other words, the devs have listened to the feedback of its fans. Players wanted the red dots that light up the minimap during firing by enemies to revive in the latest version. This is expected to be part of the “big overhaul.” It is a rumour but it will only be a matter of time before we can see the return of minimaps into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
It was only a few days ago that Modern Warfare game had set an explosive sales record with $600 Million Opening Weekend. Since its launch, the game has received mixed reviews with fans divided in their experience. Some are eloquent about the gun mechanics and gameplay, whereas many complain about its sluggish pace and corner-camping.
The game could be fantastic with a few user-friendly modifications. The core game has been found amazing, it’s gun design and the art style is phenomenal, especially in the campaign. But to make the game outstanding, a lot of things need to be worked on MP/Spec Ops.
@charlieintel has reported that “38 unreleased maps found in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PC files.” The PC data miner while digging into the unreleased code base have discovered and disclosed on Reddit post.
Modern Warfare has now shifted its approach from 6-vs-6 experience to implementing 10-vs-10 on the same maps. But the latest code shows that the “38 unreleased” have a lot of the 6v6/10v10 maps which are neighbourhoods on the Spec Ops / Battle Royale map. The 6v6 maps will have to accommodate accordingly. But whether all of them will make to multiplayer is yet to watch for.
Apart from maps, other items in the pipeline are gunfights, ground war, weapon tuning updates, footstep fixes, battle chatter enhancements, weapon and spawn system updates.
Zombies are set to make a comeback which were a staple to the first-person shooter series. The “PRESENCE_MP/ZOMBIES” has been spotted in the game files and has rekindled hope.
Another data miner has put forward the possibility of the addition of two more game modes Gun Course, and Marksman Range. The game already has 12 game modes (including the campaign and ranked modes) with Cyber Attack and Gunfight as the latest additions to the current version.
