Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 reboot is one of the most popular games in the franchise and earlier we got to see the remastered version of the ever-so-popular Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Now, the South Korean rating board has suggested that we will be receiving a remastered version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 shortly.
It was initially spotted by Twitter user Nibel who posted a link to the South Korean rating board website. To the delight of the MW2 fans who remember the days when you went 1v1 on Rust to prove who the better player is, MW2 remastered appeared on the South Korean rating board 26th February 2020.
The link shared is of remaster campaign of the 1v1 of 2009’s Modern Warfare 2. You need not confuse it with 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
However, this is not the first time that we are hearing rumors about a remastered version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. In 2018, we first got to hear that a remastered version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s campaign is in development. However, we did not get to know anything about its release date. Apparently, a listing for this remastered version appeared on the Italian version of Amazon, but it was removed quickly.
In 2019, the details about Modern Warfare 2’s remastered campaign was made available on the PEGI rating website in Europe. However, this listing was also removed quickly and we did not get to know anything about the release date. But all the rumors hint release year to be 2020 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
Till now, Activision hasn’t made any official announcement related to the remastered version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. So, unless an official announcement is made we need to take this news with a pinch of salt.
