After months of debates and speculations, the news about Attack on Titan Season 4 getting renewed has been revealed. The announcement about the second cour was made on 28th March at the end of Part 1 of Attack On Titan Season 4. It didn’t come as a surprise. Netflix Japan had been teasing Attack On Titan Season 4 Part 2 for some time.

On its current listings, Shingeki no Kyojoin: The Final Season Part 1 was displayed. Netflix subtly dropped hints that Shingeki no Kyojin Season 4 Part 2 or even a movie adaptation to come in the future. A possible ending to the so claimed AOT final season rather than the assumption of Attack On Titan Season 5.

AOT Season 4 Part 2 is going to be a split-cour season somewhat on similar lines as its Attack On Titan Season 3. A split “cour” will take a break of few months of TV broadcasting block.

While confirming its future plans, MAPPA tweeted “TV anime “Attack On Titan” The Final Season Episode 76 “Condemnation” Scheduled to be broadcast on NHK General TV this winter!

When will Attack On Titan Season 4 Part 2 Release?

MAPPA studio had 8-10 months to make AOT Final Season Part 1 from scratch. Rumor has it they already started working on AOT Final Season Part 2 in October 2020. In other words, they have ample time of 14-16 months at the very least and now they already have the CGI models ready.

In the announcement was a spoiler teaser to the final season getting split into cour coming after a break of 9 months. Attack on Titan Final Season anime will get Part 2 and it’s set to premiere this coming anime winter. AnimeTV_JP has also confirmed the Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 release date scheduled “coming this winter”.

In all likelihood Attack on Titan Final Season Episode 17 should land in early winter 2022. However, the premiere in late December 2021 cannot be ruled out taking into account the December 2020 date of Attack on Titan Final Season Part 1. AOT Part 2 will get started from Episode 76 and will end in late-March 2022.

How many episodes of Attack On Titan Season 4 Part 2?

The studio has not officially confirmed any schedule or episode count. The Manga creator Hajime Isayama is still working on Attack On Titan manga’s ending. The final chapter of the manga Attack On Titan Chapter 139 is set to release on April 9, 2021, almost 2 weeks after Part 1 ends. The Attack On Titan Volume 34 has been scheduled for June 9, 2021, and is likely to carry the pending 2% of the final chapter.

AOT Final season Part 2 now needs to adapt 23 chapters with zero episodes to be left. Previously, Attack on Titan Final Season Part 1 had covered 26 chapters of the manga in 16 episodes. Based on the adaptation rate and the number of chapters left it is speculated that the finale should be 12-16 episodes, so it should be pretty big. Trusting MAPPA’s capabilities, fans feel that it will not go for 12 episodes as it’ll be rushed. 14-16 episodes schedule sounds to be perfect.

Fans are also worried about the longevity of MAPPA studio. Known for its quality work adaptation of Manga, they feel the staff will be overworked due to the entire 2021 being overstacked for them. Or maybe they implode sometime soon with the massive workload they’re taking on. MAPPA studios has some important releases this year like AOT, JJK movie, Chainsaw man, Yasuke, Heion Sedai adaptation, Re-main, Zombieland saga revenge ad Yuri on ice movie to name a few.

We all agree that MAPPA has done justice in adapting the manga and even with the very limited time they had to pull this off, they still managed to get good and insane animation as well. Fans hope that the Attack On Titan Season 4 Part 2 far surpasses their expectations. It should truly surpass every other season in all departments including story, pacing, animation, voice acting, score, name any. AOT fans are even ready to wait a bit longer but not compromise on the adaptation.
