AQUOS Sense8 after the Android 14 update reports a “green screen” issue

Users who have updated AQUOS sense8 with the latest Android 14 update are reporting some unexpected issues, particularly with the screen color. The AQUOS sense8 originally had reported a problem with a reddish tint on the screen. Sharp rolled out an Android 14 update a few days ago that fixed the bugs reported by users. It included a reddish tint screen and strange sound quality that made users suspect the speaker to be broken.

Though the reddish screen issue has been fixed, unfortunately, users are experiencing another related bug. After updating to Android 14, some users started experiencing a different problem where the AQUOS sense8 screen would appear greenish, especially when the brightness was diminished. It might indeed be related to a software bug. Sharp will likely need to investigate and release a patch to fix this issue.

The fact that the green tint appears and disappears inconsistently, even when the screen brightness and content remain the same, suggests that the problem is caused by a software issue rather than a hardware problem. This means that it’s likely something in the software of the phone that is causing the screen to display the green tint under certain conditions.

Additionally, the fact that the green tint only appears when the screen brightness is lowered and does not affect normal use suggests that it might not be a critical issue for most users. However, it can still be annoying for those who experience it, and they are probably hoping that Sharp will release a software update to fix the problem. This unexpected issue has caused inconvenience for users who were hoping the update would resolve the earlier problem.

The green screen issue on AQUOS sense8 after the Android 14 update is not the only bug reported. A few users are also reporting that they can no longer display the notification content by long-pressing the Enter key post-Android 14 update. Another problem reported is with the music player app. Users are finding the volume changes automatically whenever the song changes.

Sharp has not yet acknowledged the issues. The devs are likely to respond with a new software update in the coming days.
