Apple’s WWDC 2020 schedule unveiled! Keynote address to happen online on June 22

Apple will be conducting its WWDC event in an online manner for the year 2020. The experience might be different, but it won’t compromise on anything. The WWDC 2020 will be held at Apple Park from 22nd June to 26th June.

“WWDC20 will be the biggest WWDC to date, bringing together the global Apple developer community of more than 23 million in an unprecedented, virtual way, from June 22 to 26,” an Apple statement said. 

“Apple today shared the WWDC20 lineup, including keynote and Platforms State of the Union timing, and information on how developers can learn about the future of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS, and engage with Apple engineers.”

Special Event Keynote and Platforms State of the Union

The start of WWDC 2020 will feature exciting reveals, inspirations, and opportunities to continue creating some of the most innovative apps in the market. On 22nd June, join the developer community to experience the future of Apple platforms. The event will feature a special Keynote at 10 AM PDT and Platforms State of Union at 2 PM PDT.

Engineering Sessions

The WWDC 2020 will feature some amazing sessions to teach you how to build next-gen apps. This event would feature some of the key engineers at Apple and their expertise on the subject. A collection of videos related to app development will be posted every day from 22nd June until 26th June.

New Developer Forum

On 18th June, Apple will reveal a redesigned version of Apple Forum that would allow you to get in touch with nearly 1000 Apple engineers. You can search the forum for answers or sign-in with your ID and password to ask a question directly to the experts. 

One-on-one sessions

You can also get an appointment to discuss the technology and related issues with an Apple developer. Eligible members can sign-in and choose an appointment slot. The appointments would be between 23rd and 26th June.

Apple Design Awards

Every year, thousands of people create multiple apps and games for the Apple devices. This event would celebrate the developers whose products stood out from the rest in terms of design and features. The event will take place on 29th June.

Special Event Keynote

Discover exciting new innovations and updates coming to all Apple platforms later this year. The keynote address will stream directly from Apple Park via apple.com, the Apple Developer app, the Apple Developer website, the Apple TV app, and YouTube, and will also be available for on-demand playback after the conclusion of the stream. For viewers in China, the keynote will also stream on Tencent, iQIYI, Bilibili, and Youku.

Platforms State of the Union

June 22, 2 p.m. PDT

Hear directly from Apple engineering leaders as they dive deeper into the latest advances across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS. State of the Union will be available on demand via the Apple Developer app and the Apple Developer website. It will also be available for playback on Tencent, iQIYI, Bilibili and YouKu for viewers in China.

100+ Engineering Sessions

June 23 to 26

Starting June 23, developers will have the ability to learn how to build the next generation of apps with more than 100 technical and design-focused sessions helmed by Apple engineers. Videos will be posted each day at 10 a.m. PDT and will be available in the Apple Developer app on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV, as well as on the Apple Developer website.

All-New Apple Developer Forums

Redesign coming June 18

The all-new Apple Developer Forums will connect the developer community with more than 1,000 Apple engineers to answer questions and engage in technical discussions. Starting the first day of WWDC, anyone can search and view the forum discussions to follow along, and Apple Developer Program members will be able to post their own questions and learn directly from Apple experts.

1-on-1 Developer Labs (by appointment)

June 23 to 26

Developers will be able to request an appointment with the Apple engineers who helped build the latest advances in Apple platforms, offering one-on-one technical guidance and in-depth details on how to implement new features. Developer Labs will be open to Apple Developer Program members as space is available.
