Some leaked images from the recent patent filings of U.S. tech giant Apple revealed a phone that comes with a notch-less full-screen display, no Face ID hardware, and a selfie camera. The mentioned specs in the filing, first noticed by online technology magazine LetsGoDigital, are something that differs a lot from the latest iPhone designs. However, the patent sketches show a power button, volume keys, and a notification switch that goes very well with the iPhone design.
Some people claimed that the leaked images refer to the upcoming iPhone in 2020. However, there are arguments to refute that claim. That is mainly because it is very hard to believe that Apple will do away with the Face ID altogether in its next iPhone model when it is one of the finest technologies offered by Apple. Coming to the logic of lack of selfie camera and absence of Face ID, some believe that Apple might offer an in-display selfie camera and fingerprint sensor as alternatives in the next iPhone model.
Among the people who refuted the claim, some believe that the patent design is related to the new iPod Touch that could be manufactured in line with the latest iPhone design since Apple is only filing for the display’s patent, as per the patent’s text.
The rest of the people believe there is a possibility that the patent design is related to a low-range iPhone that could launch in the future. Recently, YouTuber ZONEofTECH and various other sources revealed that Apple is going to launch 5 iPhone models in 2020 that include the next generation of lower-priced iPhone SE.
iPhone SE 2 is expected to bear a lot of resemblance to the design of the iPhone 8. Specs-wise, iPhone SE 2 is expected to bear resemblance with iPhone 11, such as 64-bit A13 ARM-based chip and 3GB RAM, 1GB lower than the latter.
