Apple held a keynote event at its campus at 10 AM PT and here are the significant announcements/ takeaways.
It is Apple’s ad-free gaming subscription program which will launch on September 19 for $4.99/ month with a one-month free trial. The users will access the games via Arcade tab in the App Store.
The company said that Apple Arcade would come with more than 100 groundbreaking exclusive games and new contents will be added every month. Arcade titles will be playable on iPad, iPhone, Apple TV, and Mac.
The company gave demos of Arcade exclusives from legendary Japanese game studios, including a modern riff on the classic Frogger called Frogger in Toy Town from Konami and an all-new title called Shinsekai: Into The Depths from Capcom.
Apple today announced that it’s streaming platform will finally be available from November 1, 2019. They also revealed that Apple TV+ would cost just $4.99 per month for the whole family. The streaming service will be available in 100+ countries through the Apple TV app.
CEO Tim Cook announced that users would get one-year free subscription of streaming service on the purchase of any new Apple device including iPhone and Mac.
The price of $4.99 is lower than almost all of its competitors like Netflix ($12.99), Hulu ($5.99), and upcoming Disney+ ($6.99). The one-year free offer gives Apple an even better edge on the competition.
Apple Watch Series 5
Apple Watch is trendy among tech enthusiasts. At the press conference, Tim introduced a new model of Apple Watch. “Apple Watch puts groundbreaking health, fitness and communication capabilities on the wrist of millions and millions of people,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said.
The Apple watch decreases brightness when you lower your hand and increases it when you raise it. The watch has a built-in compass and an app that tells you longitude, latitude, and directions. The emergency call feature is extended to 150 countries which can be activated by pressing and holding the side button to call the local emergency numbers.
Apple Watch Series 5 with a GPS starts at $399 (for the aluminium model). For $499, you also get a cellular modem. Pre-orders start today, and they will be available on September 20.
The 7th generation Apple iPad sports a 10.2″ display, upgraded from the previous 9.7″ variety. The updated iPad also supports the first-generation Apple Pencil and the company’s Smart Keyboard. The device will continue to start at $329 and is available for pre-order today and ships September 30.
It sports an anodized aluminium and glass design. The device is available in a handful of colours including white, green, yellow, purple, black and red. iPhone 11 also has a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina display.
It has a dual-camera set up: one 12mp wide lens, 26mm f/1.8 and an ultra-wide 12mp f/2.4 sensor. Plus, it also has features like Night Mode and Portrait mode.
On the video end, iPhone 11 shoots 4K video at 60fps, complete with Slo-mo, time-lapse, cinematic video stabilization, and extended the effective range up to 4K across both cameras.
On the front-facing camera, Apple decided to go big with a broader angle sensor and the ability to capture 4K video at 30/60fps and the capacity to shoot slo-mo.
The iPhone 11 will start at $699.
iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max
Body and colour – The device has a surgical grade stainless steel body with a single sheet of matte glass on the back. It comes in midnight green, space grey, silver/ white, and gold.
Display – The Pro comes with a 5.8-inch display, while the Pro Max comes with a 6.5-inch display.
Camera – Talking about the cameras, the iPhone Pro and Pro Max have three 12-megapixel cameras, covering the standard wide-angle view at 26mm equivalent, a 52mm telephoto, and a new ultra-wide 13mm that gives you a broader perspective, with 120-degree field of vision.
iPhone 11Pro and Pro Max Price – The iPhone 11 Pro will start at $999, and the iPhone 11 Pro Max will start at $1099, with sales beginning on Friday at 5 AM PDT and shipping on September 20.
