Android Q to be called as Android 10: No more dessert names for the OS

Google has officially announced that from now on, the upcoming versions of the Androids won’t be named after desserts. The news comes on the official Twitter handle of @Android. Android Q, which is almost in its final stages of development, will be released soon. Android Q will be simply called Android 10 when it is released to the public.

They have also announced a brand refresh with Android 10. A new logo for Android with new colours was released. The new logo will start appearing everywhere in the coming weeks according to Google. The last Android redesigning was done in 2014 so another redesign was long overdue.

The decision of parting ways with dessert names comes from the reason that Google doesn’t want to name it after something that everyone is not familiar with. Apparently, this hasn’t gone down well with people on the internet. Many people are against the verdict of not keeping up with tradition.
